Raised on the Iron Range, Jake has a heart for seeing people encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and live fully surrendered to God’s purpose. He is passionate about the Word of God, the work of the Holy Spirit, and building a church that equips and sends people to love and serve their communities. Jake believes God is transforming the Iron Range through ordinary people faithfully following Jesus together.

Greg serves as an elder at North Star Church and is a faithful presence on the leadership team. A business owner in Hibbing, he carries a deep love for his family and community while actively serving in multiple areas of ministry. Greg leads North Star Knights during the school year, helping kids grow as disciples of Jesus, and also serves as the prayer team lead, helping foster a culture of prayer, fasting, and intercession across the church. Greg carries a quiet depth of character that is evident in relationship, marked by wisdom, care, and steady strength. Known for his humor, willingness to serve, and strong problem-solving abilities, Greg has a heart for the lost and hurting and is passionate about sharing how God has transformed his life. He loves his church family deeply and continually seeks the Lord’s direction for North Star Church.

Jason serves as an elder at North Star Church and is a true go-getter who willingly steps into any project and looks for ways to lighten the load of those around him. His life has been transformed by Jesus, and he is passionate about sharing the importance of God’s Word, community, and accountability in the life of a believer. Known for his witty humor and genuine love for people, Jason has a quiet way of challenging others toward deeper faith and growth, with strong gifting in shepherding and encouragement. He adores his family and enjoys spending time outdoors, whether fishing, hunting, or adventuring with those he loves. Jason is deeply committed to seeing people experience the fullness of life in Christ and is an integral part of the North Star family, faithfully caring for those God places in his life.

Steve serves as an elder at North Star Church and is a steady, thoughtful presence on the leadership team. With an engineer’s mind for problem-solving and a shepherd’s heart, he encourages others to pursue Jesus wholeheartedly and get to the root of what God is doing in their lives. He enjoys the outdoors, family adventures that often turn into memorable “expeditions,” and time spent fishing and being with those he loves. Steve is a servant who listens well, carries strong gifting in shepherding and encouragement, and is passionate about disciple-making and spiritual growth. We are grateful for his faithfulness to preach when needed, proclaim God’s Word, and help keep North Star focused on its mission.

Kim is a tremendous blessing to North Star Church, faithfully helping keep Pastor Jake organized and ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks. As a gifted administrative assistant, she is always willing to go the extra mile and tackle any task placed before her, helping keep the church supplied, clean, and running smoothly. With a background as an RN, lactation consultant, and extensive experience in OB and instruction, she brings valuable wisdom and care to the team—especially in her involvement with kids ministries. Kim’s servant heart and steady presence make her a true gift to the North Star family.

Holly serves as the Children’s Ministries Director, overseeing both nursery and kids ministries with a deep love and vision for the next generation of the church. She carries a calm and quiet spirit, yet is strong and confident in her convictions and direction for how to best disciple and care for children. A lifelong caregiver, Holly has a natural compassion for those around her and serves with a heart of deep kindness and humility. She is a devoted follower of Jesus whose desire is to walk in obedience to Him and help children discover the joy of knowing and following Christ.

Ellie was married this year to her best friend and adventure partner, and together they enjoy hiking, kayaking, and playing outdoor games--especially pickleball. She is a gifted engineer with a mind for excellence and a heart to continually improve everything she puts her hands to. Ellie moved to the Iron Range just over six years ago after a missions trip that placed her with the right people to help plant and cultivate churches on the Iron Range. She now serves as treasurer, faithfully helping steward the finances of North Star Church with wisdom and care.

Tim is deeply passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus and has a heart for both global missions and local outreach. As a trustee and leader of North Star's technology team, he brings a wide range of talents that help the church function and grow effectively. Tim faithfully serves through maintenance projects, logistics, sound, and technology, always willing to lend a helping hand. He is a man of prayer and boldly seeks direction and encourages others to walk as a disciple maker in obedience to Jesus. He enjoys teaching and walking along side people to help them know God and advance His Kingdom. If you need practical, logistical, or technological help, you know who to ask!

Katherine has faithfully led nursery ministry at North Star Church for over a decade, serving with consistency, care, and a deep love for the Lord and His children. She is a clear and straightforward communicator who is passionate about creating a safe, joyful, and nurturing environment for the youngest members of our church. Katherine believes it is never too early to pray over, love, and point children toward Jesus, surrounding them with trusted and caring people who reflect His heart. Along with her strong administrative gifts and attention to detail, she brings a steady determination to do what is best for those in her care. As a devoted mother of two, she also carries a strong awareness of allergies and child safety, helping ensure an environment where families can feel confident and supported. Katherine’s heart, diligence, and drive for both safety and joy make her a vital part of the North Star family.

Lindsay serves as North Star’s Worship Leader and, alongside her husband Tim, faithfully leads our worship ministry with humility, wisdom, and a deep love for Jesus. She is a gifted musician and elementary music teacher in the Hibbing School District, using her God-given talents to encourage and disciple the next generation. Lindsay is a woman of prayer with a quiet but strong leadership style, always seeking the Lord’s wisdom and direction above all else. She is passionate about helping others develop a genuine heart of worship and a deep walk with Christ, both through North Star and her involvement with Youth For Christ. Her quiet strength, spiritual discernment, and faithful service have been an incredible blessing to our church family, and we are deeply grateful for the ways God uses her to lead and encourage others.

Sue serves as the Women’s Ministry Lead at North Star Church, bringing a wealth of wisdom, experience, and faithful leadership to the role. Having been part of North Star since its beginning, she has served in many capacities and now walks alongside women, helping them follow Jesus according to the example and truth found in Scripture. Sue is deeply passionate about God’s Word and believes His truth must remain the foundation and guide for every area of life. She is a straightforward communicator with exceptional administrative gifts and a heart for prayer, fasting, disciple-making, and reaching the lost. Sue faithfully encourages others to obey the Lord, even when the path is difficult, and desires to see generations of believers grow in their love for Christ and His mission.

Heidi serves as North Star's Missions Team Lead and is passionate about following Jesus wherever He calls, embracing every adventure with a wholehearted "yes" to the Lord. She has learned that stepping beyond her own strength is often where God does His greatest work and faithfully encourages others to do the same. Heidi carries a powerful testimony of God's healing and loves to worship through both song and prayer, believing deeply in the importance of intercession and joyful obedience. Her heart for missions extends to people here, there, and everywhere, and she is passionate about building a culture of serving, sending, and welcoming others into the work God is doing. She also leads our Women's Connect ministry, helping foster meaningful relationships rooted in Christ and authentic community. Fun, creative, and wonderfully quirky, Heidi can always be counted on to bring joy wherever she goes—and there is always room at her table for one more friend who will hear how Jesus still transforms lives!
